This policy describes how George Wine Company collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or make a purchase.

Analytics

We use three analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. We don't use them for advertising, and we don't sell visitor information.

PostHog. PostHog is set up so that it doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, doesn't record your screen or sessions, and doesn't build a profile of you. It records the pages you visit, basic technical details (such as browser, device type, and the website that referred you), and a few actions on our site: which parts of the home page you reach, clicks on our shop and George List buttons, wines added to your cart, the start of checkout, whether our online shop loaded, and when The George List sign-up form loads or is completed. To count visits without cookies, PostHog briefly uses your IP address and browser details to create an anonymous code that changes every day. Your IP address is then discarded, not stored. PostHog processes this information in the United States. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load PostHog at all. Learn more in PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Vercel Web Analytics. Our hosting provider, Vercel, gives us basic visit statistics, such as the pages viewed, the referring website, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. It doesn't use third-party cookies. Visitors are counted with an anonymous code that is discarded after 24 hours. Learn more in Vercel's Privacy Notice.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4). It uses cookies to collect information such as which pages you visit, what device and browser you use, and your general geographic location. Checkout takes place on Vinoshipper's website, which runs its own Google Analytics and may also report completed purchases to ours. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics don't respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, so they still run when your browser sends one.

Purchases and The George List

All purchases, payments, shipping, and George List sign-ups are handled by Vinoshipper, a third-party commerce platform for wineries. When you place an order or join The George List, Vinoshipper collects the information needed to process and ship your order and to verify your age for alcohol sales — including your name, contact details, shipping address, payment information, and date of birth.

Cookies

Our own site sets one cookie. It remembers that you confirmed you are 21 or older, for 30 days. Google Analytics sets cookies as described above. Vinoshipper sets a cookie that remembers your shopping cart for about a month, and may set others during checkout and age verification. PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics don't set cookies.

How We Use Information

Information collected through our site and third-party services is used to fulfill and ship orders, comply with federal and state laws governing alcohol sales and shipping, and improve the website.

Third-Party Services

These third-party services may collect or process visitor data: Google (analytics), PostHog (analytics), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), and Vinoshipper (commerce, payments, and shipping). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
